When and Where


When and where will Africa Cup 2020 take place?

Country: Cape Town, South Africa

Accommodation: Southern Sun Waterfront or Southern Sun Cullinan

Sports Venue: Ajax Football Club, Cape Town

Eligibility


Who is eligible to take part?

All players must work for DHL Express and must have been on the payroll as of 3 April 2019. No attendees from other divisions are allowed to participate, no third party suppliers can take part and your HR Manager must approve everyone on the football, cheerleading and supporter team. Teams will be disqualified if any team member does not comply with this rule.

Sports Facilities & Services


Will drinks be provided?

Yes. We will provide drinking non alcoholic drinks.

Aside from drinks is Lunch included at the Sports Fields?

Yes, each participant will be allocated tokens to use at the Tournament. Any additional drinks and snacks outside of this allocation will be a personal expense.

Early Arrival


Can we arrive earlier than Day 1?

DHL Express will cover your accommodation for the duration of Africa Cup, which is for three nights (unless flight times dictate an additional day).

If you would like to extend your stay, please inform your Country Coach who can arrange this for you at your own expense. Any extensions must be requested BEFORE HQ books your flights, any fees to change flights due to personal reasons will be for your own account.

Food & Beverages


Are meals provided?

Yes, all meal are provided throughout the Africa Cup programme. Please note, any meals taken outside of the group meal will be for your own account.

Transportation


How do we get to the location?

Each coach or HR Manager is responsible for arranging their team’s flights with Africa Cup HQ. If you have any questions regarding travel options, please ask your coach or email [email protected].

Your coach will arrange your visa to South Africa. If you have any questions regarding visas, please ask your coach or email [email protected].

If you would like to extend your stay, please inform your Country Coach who can arrange this for you at your own expense. Any extensions must be requested BEFORE HQ books your flights, any fees to change flights due to personal reasons will be for your own account.

How do we get from the hotel to the sports fields?

We will be providing buses from the hotel to the sports fields each day.

Costs


What expenses are covered by DHL Express?

Accommodation at the hotel (3 nights, unless a mixed team or flight dictate otherwise) is covered for the duration of Africa Cup

One set of football kit (shorts, shirt, socks) will be provided. All other item must be supplied in country.

What expenses are covered by my entity/country office?

Your country will pay for country activation, promotion, including local events, and all travel costs to and from the airport in your country.

Additional food and beverage costs can also be covered by your country. On these occasions, this will be communicated by your coach as to what is allowed.

What will I need to pay for?

You will need money (South African Rand – ZAR) for additional food and beverages at the sports fields. If you would like to make extra purchases outside of the Tournament and After Party venues, these will be a personal expense.

What payment methods can I use?

At the hotel, you can pay using cash (South African Rand – ZAR), Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro cards

Can I invite friends or family to the Africa cup?

Unfortunately, no friends or family may join you at the Africa Cup at any time!

Can I leave the tournament to go shopping or miss the after party?

No, everyone invited to the Africa Cup will be required to attend the full tournament and each of the Group dinners.

Are supporters allowed to play soccer?

No, only registered soccer players may participate in the games, no supporters may participate in the games at any time.
